    Overview

Bring cinematic stories to life as you explore the art of filmmaking in iconic London.

London, home to legendary directors such as Hitchcock and Nolan, is the perfect place to study filmmaking, with its thriving creative industry and instantly recognizable backdrops. You’ll join other Global Navigators to collaborate on a short film scene, from first draft to final cut.

In class and on location, you’ll dive into the building blocks of visual storytelling—scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing—while getting insider tips from professionals working in the field. You’ll analyze films across genres, create storyboards to plan each shot, and practice production techniques using real cameras and editing software. By the end, your team will present a five-minute scene and share your director’s statement, explaining your creative choices and local inspiration.

Outside the classroom, you’ll soak up all that London has to offer, from catching a play at the National Theatre to cruising past Big Ben on the Thames. Spend a weekend exploring Oxford’s historic university quads and visit Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Take home unforgettable memories and a polished portfolio piece you can use to stand out when applying to film school or pursuing a creative career.
