    Overview

JASA's mission is to sustain and enrich the lives of the aging in the New York metropolitan area so that they can remain in the community with dignity and autonomy.

Without the help of our volunteers – over 1,000 strong – JASA simply would not be able to offer the life-sustaining services we provide to the New York areas seniors.

Volunteer opportunities for youth include JASANextGen, JASANextGenJunior, B'nai Mitzvah Projects, Collection Drives, and more!

    JASANextGen

JASANextGen is a volunteer advocacy program led by the next generation to educate and advocate on issues relating to older adults. JASANextGenners join monthly meetings to learn about a range of topics from food insecurity to elder abuse, help raise critical funds for our annual JASAEats campaign, take lead in volunteer projects, and participate in mini-internships.

JASANextGen Teens (ages 12-17)  have the opportunity to hone their leadership skills and learn more about different career fields while JASANextGen Young Adults (ages 18-22) focus on career development and networking.

    JASANextGen Junior

JASANextGen Junior is an intergenerational volunteer program for third through fifth grade students. NextGen Junior engages kids in intergenerational virtual game nights with JASA seniors helping to build meaningful relationships with the seniors we serve.

    B'nai Mitzvah Projects

We look forward to working with you on a personalized and meaningful project for your bar or bat mitzvah. With more than 20 services and a community of 40,000 older New Yorkers, we are confident in finding a project that fits your passions and interests.
